Our Story

When La Tienda Thrift Store opened in 2009, there was no home available for men in the recovery program. In those early days, men would travel from Lakeland Men’s Ranch in Lake Elsinore to help remodel the store and prepare it for opening. With no dedicated housing, they would sleep in the store and then head to the home of Pastor Jim and his wife, Laura, to shower and eat breakfast.

After about a month of this routine, the four Glynn children still living at home spoke up: “Dad, this isn’t working.” With only one bathroom and everyone juggling school, work, and daily responsibilities, it was a challenge to accommodate five men sharing the same space.

Recognizing the need for a better solution, we began to pray for an alternative. That’s when the first Joshua House became available for us to rent—a true answer to prayer. From those humble beginnings, we couldn’t have imagined how far God would take us or the impact this ministry would have on so many lives...
